Man drowns in canal after leaving nightclub

The body of a 25-year-old man has been retrieved from a three-metre deep canal below an apartment block near the Ushaka Marine World, in the Durban CBD
Justin Hofman from Umkomaas, allegedly drowned while swimming in the canal, after leaving the Cape2Cairo nightclub on Sunday.
Police Spokesperson Thulani Zwane says a resident frantically attempted to search for Hofman - with no success.
"The search and rescue team assisted by other search and rescue teams from Port Shepstone as well as other areas, went to look for the man who drowned after he allegedly was swimming in the area. The members managed to find his body and the case was opened at Point Police Station for further investigation," he said.
