KZN search for missing flight MH370 gets underway today
Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
A group of three men will today scour the KZN south coast in hopes of finding debris from the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.
The plane disappeared in 2014 during a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board. Debris-hunter Blaine Gibson has travelled from America to join South Africans Neels Kruger and Liam Lotter to search for any piece that could be linked to the plane.
Gibson says they will be searching for any fragments including personal effects of those on board.
"We simply go to beaches that are not protected by a reef, where there a pretty big waves that wash things ashore," he said.
"We then look for anything plastic, fibre glass composite with some metal in them to a simple honey comb from the interior cabin that looks more like a surf board or looks more like it is from a cardboard box," Gibson said.
