Inchanga murder case postponed to next Wednesday
The case against two men arrested in connected with the murder of Nsikelelo Blose, has been postponed to next Wednesday.
The SACP member was shot and killed in Inchanga on Sunday - with her murder thought to be a result of tensions between the South African Communist Party and ANC in the area.
Before proceedings got underway in the Camperdown Magistrate’s Court, State Prosecutor Neville Laubscher made an application prohibiting the media from publishing photos, videos or the names of the accused.
He told the court this was because crucial investigations are still underway.
Magistrate Nombulelo Mbatha granted the State's request.
The two accused - aged 27 and 39 - are charged with one count of murder, and one of pointing a firearm.
They're alleged to have shot Blose at Mnide Tavern in Fredville on Sunday night.
Laubscher requested the court to remand the matter for seven days to allow for the verification of the addresses of the accused, and to also check if there are any pending cases against them.
The two suspects have applied for Legal Aid.
