IFP's Mangosuthu Buthelezi speaks against political violence

Inkatha Freedom Party President Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi says he hopes the violence in KZN in recent months is not a permanent feature of the 2016 election campaign.
"Our province in particular is one of the provinces where there is a lot of violence and it is really worrying because the violence seems to come from people within the same party.
"People are jostling for positions to be councillors to the extend that some people feel like killing other human beings just to be councillors. It's a very sad state of affairs," he said.
Buthelezi today led a walkabout in Umlazi ahead of the party's manifesto launch in the area on Sunday.
He says the launch of their manifesto was delayed because of difficulties in finding a venue.
Buthelezi says he's no stranger to Umlazi as it was through his intervention that land was made available by the government for houses to be built in the area.
"I really don't need to promise in every rally and say that things are going to be miraculous and a better life for all. I am merely saying that the people of Umlazi should give us another opportunity to serve them if what we did is what they want," he said.
