Four people have been killed in two separate crashes on the N2 in northern KZN this morning.
Three people died after a car and a bakkie collided near KwaMbonambi in the Uthungulu District Municipality.
KZN Emergency Medical Services' Robert Mckenzie says three people were treated on the scene.
"The three people - two women and a man - who were fatally injured were occupants of the car. Paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services treated two people at the scene who had sustained serious injuries," he said.
Meanwhile, a 55-year-old man was killed in a separate accident near the Mtunzini turn-off.
Mckenzie says two bakkies collided there at about 7am.
One person from the second vehicle was seriously hurt and taken to hospital.
The cause of both crashes is still unknown authorities are investigating.
In addition, three pedestrians have been seriously hurt after being struck by a vehicle in Klaarwater near Mariannhill.
