Farewell Mandoza: Scores turn up at funeral
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Mduduzi Edmund Tshabalala, better known as Mandoza, died last weekend after a lengthy battle with a brain tumour.
On Wednesday thousands gathered at the public memorial service held at the Ellis Park Arena in Johannesburg where Mandoza was remembered as a loving father and a humble guy.
South Africans have paid tribute to Mandoza since the shock news of his death.
Mandoza died after being rushed to hospital yesterday afternoon following his two year battle with brain cancer.
Longtime friend and collaborator, Danny K also attended the funeral to say farewell to "his brother."
He was born in Zola, Soweto, on the 19th of January 1978 and became a household name following his hit song, Nkalakatha.
Mandoza never knew his father with his mother saying he was murdered the same year Mandoza was born.
He will be laid to rest in the heroe's acre at Westpark cemetery later today.
