EFF Deputy President Floyd Shivambu has reiterated the party's key objectives ahead of the Local Government Elections in August.
Shivambu's been addressing ward councillor candidates in the eThekwini region at the Bellhaven Memorial Centre in Greyville in Durban.
Shivambu has touched on a number of issues, including improving service delivery and fighting corruption.
He says the EFF has a clear programme on every aspect of life including taking back the land.
''We are going to expropriate land and give it to our people. We are going to take back the land and build proper burial sites. In eThekwini townships graves are being reused, the dignity of Africans is being undermined.
''In one grave, they bury three people so we don't have the land when we are alive even when you are dead you still can't get a small piece of land,'' he said.
Meanwhile, Shivambu has also met with the councillor candidates who've committed to working for the community, improving service delivery and fighting corruption.
Ward councillor candidate, Haseena Dasoo for ward 31 which includes Overport, Musgrave, Sydenham has told Newswatch about some of the challenges in the area.
''Top of our agenda is the issue of safety and security in our area and we've got to tackle the drug situation in the area, we also need to clean up our ward. This also includes employment, housing and homelessness,'' she said.
As the candidates were each being introduced, there were chants of "down Nxumalo down" and "down Gumede down", in reference to eThekwini mayor, James Nxumalo and recently-elected ANC chairperson for the eThekwini region, Zandile Gumede.
