Eskom 'a criminal enterprise': analyst
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
A political analyst, has reacted to the Public Protector's State of Capture report that was released yesterday after a high court ruling.
Ralph Mathekga says one of the most significant aspects of the state capture report is the probe and findings made against Eskom.
Former Public Protector, Thuli Madonsela did not make findings on individuals but recommended that a Commission of Inquiry - led by a Judge selected by the Chief Justice - to probe several incidents detailed in her 355 page report.

The report says Eskom's board might have been illegally constituted and also highlights alleged irregular awarding of contracts to Gupta-linked businesses.
Mathekga says the report points out the unusually close relationship between the Eskom CEO, Brian Molefe and the Gupta family.
"The picture that comes out says that state-owned enterprises, including Eskom, might as well be criminal enterprises for the benefit of the Gupta family and President Jacob Zuma," he said.
Mathekga says the ball is now firmly in the president's court as he has to implement her recommendations - essentially against himself.
