Baby found after being stranded for three days in Ntuzuma
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
A Durban toddler has miraculously survived after being stuck in a bushy trench and braving the elements for three days.
The 18-month-old baby boy from Ntuzuma, north of the city, was reported missing by his family on Saturday night following a frantic search.
He was found about 200 metres from his Lindelani home covered in grass and rubble by Sergeant Clinton Odayar from the Durban K9 Unit.
Odayar has told Newswatch of his relief as he and his canine partner, Dante finally found the toddler yesterday.
Odayar says the child was taken KwaMashu Poly Clinic and immediately put on a drip.
The images below show how deep the grass is where the child was found.
Below, the image shows the area where the toddler was last seen playing.
This is where the child is thought to have walked down before disappearing.
