Simon Cowell breaks baby silence
Music mogul Simon Cowell has for the first time publically confirmed that he’s about to become a dad for the first time…
The X Factor boss is expecting his first child with his former best friend’s wife, Lauren Silverman.
After dodging the scandal for weeks, Simon spoke out in London last night at the world premiere of a new documentary starring his group One Direction. The 53 year old He told the BBC, “I’m proud to be a dad.”
Cowell added, “It's something I hadn't thought of before, but now I know I feel good about it." He said he doesn't know the gender of the child yet.
Cowell is expecting a baby with 36-year-old New York socialite Lauren Silverman. Cowell gushed, "Things are changing in my life right now, for the better. Lauren's a very special girl."
Silverman settled her divorce with Cowell's pal Andrew Silverman last week.
Meanwhile the Daily Mail is reporting that Cowell is flying Lauren over to the UK this week. The socialite who is believed to be around 12 weeks pregnant, has been in constant contact with Cowell but this will be the first time they have seen each other in weeks.
Cowell is also eager to introduce Lauren to his 87 year old mum, Julie. Insiders say he is eager for the two women in his life to forge a bond as his mum means everything to him.
