Roads affected by heavy rainfall

Excessive rains have caused flash floods around Durban this evening. Here is a full roundup of routes affected by the downpour today.
Durban received heavy rains on Monday afternoon and as usual when it rains heavily, flooding is experienced.
Major roads like North Coast Road and Northumberland Road in Durban North were massively affected creating huge traffic jams that stretched several kilometers.
The SA Weather Service says the cold rainy and snowy conditions are expected to go on until Wednesday in most parts of the province.
Here are some roads that were affected by today’s rainfall that should be avoided.
- M4 Northbound between Umhlanga and Ballito.
- M7 has very bad water puddles coming towards Belville bridge.
- The intersection of South Coast and Blamey Road.
- Traffic backed up from Sibaya to Gateway exit on N2’s south carriageway.
- O Flaherty Road in Reservoir Hills.
- North Coast Road.
- Northumberland Road in Durban North.
- Flooding on Umbilo Road outside UKZN Medical School.
- Inner beach road (near Beach bums) from Ballito towards Umhloti.
- Francois Road in Cato Manor.
