Willow Smith drops darkly beautiful 'Big Feelings' song

 Willow Smith has big feelings, and she is ready to pour them out into the world.  

The singer, who is the daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, released her new song, 'Big Feelings', on Thursday. 

Willow says the track, which is stylised 'b i g f e e l i n g s', is about accepting intense feelings you have no idea what to do with.

"The piano part of this song is so dense and dissonant but also darkly beautiful. I wrote 'b i g f e e l i n g s' during a week where I was coming to terms with my own emotional patterns that I hadn’t known were there. Musically, it has a darkness and complexity that reflects what we all experience in our own minds," the 23-year-old said.

Willow shared the lyrics of her new song on her Instagram page:

I have such big feelings

The lyrics are already resonating with her fans. "This is why I love her music. I can 100% connect to her lyrics," one wrote. 

'Big Feelings' is the second song released from her upcoming album, 'empathogen', which is due for release on May 3. 

It follows the release of her "whimsical" song, 'Symptom of Life'. 

"The song has a very beautiful whimsical nature but holds a lot of mystery. There’s this beautiful light coming in through the piano, but also this syncopated rhythm of the bass, bringing in that mysterious element. A juxtaposition of light and dark," she said about the track. 

The 'Wait a Minute!' hitmaker has released the full tracklist for her upcoming album. It features Jon Batiste and St. Vincent.
