Whoopi Goldberg has caused an uproar online after revealing that she scattered her mother's ashes at Disneyland.

The 68-year-old's mother, Emma Harris, passed away in 2010 after suffering a stroke

During an interview on 'Late Night with Seth Meyers', Whoopi opened up about how she honoured her mother after her death.

"My mother loved Disneyland, and so we took her to Disneyland. And when I was a kid, the World's Fair was here, and it was the introduction of Small World, and she loved Small World," she said.

'The View' co-host said while on the 'Small World' ride, she "scooped some of her up" and pretended to sneeze so she could spread her ashes into the water.

Whoopi also admitted to scattering some of the ashes by the flowers near the Disneyland sign. The EGOT winner strongly advised against anyone doing what she did.

"No one should do this. Don't do it," she said.

Whoopi further explained that she told Disney officials what she had done.

"I told them I did it. I wanted to make sure that I hadn't done something that was dangerous because it hadn't occurred to me. There's a reason they don't want ashes just floating around."

Despite a clear disclaimer explaining why people shouldn't attempt to do what she did, many social media users were upset by her admission.

"Not cool, since she probably wasn’t alone on the ride. I, personally, wouldn’t want to inhale somebody’s ashes," one Instagram user wrote.

An X (Twitter) user wrote: "Ashes to ashes. Not a dignified way to treat a loved one IMO."

Another social media user wrote: "She should be fired and banned from the Disney parks like everyone else when they get caught spreading ashes."
