This Friday, it’s a party! Tyla is gearing up for the release of her first studio album...
Tyla is finally releasing her long-awaited debut album, years after bursting onto the local music scene with her hit single, 'Getting Late'.
The 22-year-old has come a long way since then. Her Grammy Award-winning song, 'Water' - released in 2023 - made her a household name worldwide.
Her first studio album, 'TYLA', is dropping on Friday, March 22. The 'Truth or Dare' hitmaker released the album's track list on Instagram.
"This Friday, it’s a party!" Tyla wrote.
Nigerian superstar Tems and American singer Becky G are some of the featured artists on the album. Tyla's 'Water' remix featuring Travis Scott is also featured, as is South African amapiano producer Kelvin Momo.
“I always listen to Kelvin Momo. He’s an amapiano producer. Everyone should listen to him. I’m listening to Nasty C, Kabza De Small. There’s so many amazing artists out here in South Africa,” Tyla told Zane Lowe on Apple Music last year.
Here's a look at the complete tracklist:
1. Intro ft. Kelvin Momo
2. 'Safer'
3. 'Water'
4. 'Truth or Dare'
5. 'No. 1' ft. Tems
6. 'Breathe Me'
7. 'Butterflies'
8. 'On and On'
9. 'Jump' ft. Gunna and Skillibeng
10. 'Art'
11. 'On My Body' ft. Becky G
12. 'Priorities'
13. 'To Last'
14. 'Water (Remix)' ft. Travis Scott
MORE FROM EAST COAST RADIO
Despite a recent setback, Tyla is moving full steam ahead with her album promotion.
She revealed in a lengthy statement earlier this month that she has decided to cancel her tour's North American and European legs due to an injury.
"For the past year, I’ve been silently suffering with an injury that has tragically worsened. I’ve seen doctors and specialists with high hopes, but the pain has only become more agonizing as has the severity of the situation," she said.
Tyla will likely reschedule the dates and add stops in South Africa.
Her fans can't wait to listen to her debut album on Friday.
"The collabs are so brilliant and strategic! She is crossing over into so many demos and markets with these features! (k pop, Latin, hip hop, & also solidifying African roots) She really is aiming to be a global star. I’m here for it. I see the big picture Tyla girl," one fan wrote on Instagram.
Another fan added: "I’ve never been more excited for something."
