Grammy Award-winning singer Tina Turner talks about how she first rejected her biggest single 'What’s Love Got To Do With It’ when she first read the lyrics.
Music icon Tina Turner has announced that she is retiring from the music business. The 81-year-old made the announcement in her new documentary, 'Tina'.

According to the star's Instagram page, the documentary will highlight Turner's music and personal journey. She said it will show "a never-before-seen look" into her life. The documentary premieres on @hbomax this Saturday.
Leading up to the release, Turner has taken to social media to share some of the special memories she has of her music career. One of them is how she rejected one of her biggest songs - ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’, when she first heard the lyrics.
“Did you know that when I first read the lyrics for “What’s love got to do with it”, I rejected the song?” she wrote on her Instagram page.
She said listening to the song on her documentary was one of the most touching moments.
"Crazy to think about that now. Hearing the song in the documentary “TINA” was one of the most touching moments for me in the movie," she wrote on IG.
The star says the song reminded her of how far she has come.
The song was released in 1984 on the album, ‘Private Dancer’.
It sold over a million copies worldwide and won three Grammy Awards in 1985 – ‘Record of the Year’, ‘Song of the Year’, and ‘Best Female Pop Vocal Performance’.
‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ was Turner’s first and only Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single.
It was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2012.
