Rihanna's 'Diamonds' achieves diamond certification

Shine bright like a diamond! A song Rihanna released in 2012 just hit diamond status.

She might not be dropping new music anytime soon, but Rihanna's old songs continue to make music history.

The Recording Industry Association of America revealed on Monday, April 22, that her 2012 song, 'Diamonds', has been certified diamond. 

Diamond status is 10-million equivalent song units or more in the US. 

".@Rihanna's "Diamonds" is officially @RIAA certified Diamond," her label Roc Nation wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

This is the 36-year-old's third single to become diamond-certified. 'Love the Way You Lie', which featured on Eminem's 2010 album, 'Recovery', achieved the status in March 2022.

Her collaboration with Calvin Harris, 'We Found Love', was certified diamond in April 2023. The song was the lead single on RiRi's 2011 album, 'Talk That Talk'.

Rihanna's diamond-selling single, 'Diamonds', was co-written by fellow singer Sia for her seventh studio album, 'Unapologetic', which was released in 2012. 

Benny Blanco and Stargate (Tor E. Hermansen and Mikkel S. Eriksen) produced the song.

The music video for 'Diamonds' has more than 2.3-billion views on YouTube. 

"April 2024. Let's see how many legends are here," one user commented on the video. 

Another added: "It's a masterpiece."
