Perrie Edwards has released the official video for her new song, 'Tears'.

The Little Mix star, who now goes only by Perrie, debuted the video on YouTube on Monday, July 1. The visuals will give you 70s, 80s, and 90s fashion nostalgia.

"I wanted to live out my 70s Cher inspired fantasies with this video," Perrie wrote on Instagram.

The 30-year-old's fans are convinced her new song is about her ex-boyfriend, former One Direction singer Zayn Malik.

The pair were engaged to be married but called it quits in 2015.

"Said you’re sorry now /You should have been sorry then/ But you’ll never see me cry again/ I don’t even care anymore/ You can keep the pain of it all /I know I’m never getting back/ All my tears from you," she sings.

Perrie, who is now dating English footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, did not comment on the speculation. She did, however, explain the meaning behind 'Tears'.

"This song is about coming out of a bad situation and letting go of what has happened in the past. It’s that point where you feel empowered, and you leave the tears behind because you’ve come out the other side. It’s a sultry and smooth track that I’m really excited for you all to hear," she said in a press release to promote her new song.

MORE FROM EAST COAST RADIO:

'Tears' is the second song released from her upcoming debut solo album. It follows 'Forget About Us', which was released in April. The track was a top 10 hit in the UK.

Perrie is yet to reveal the album's release date but it is coming sometime in 2024.

She revealed in an interview on the 'Zach Sang Show' that she gets a lot off her chest in her new album.

"I just think music is so powerful and I know I sound really cringe when I say this, but there's not much on this earth that is as strong and powerful as music... I just wanted to make music people could relate to, music that can make them feel good, music that I was really proud of. I think that was the most important thing," she said.

Since Little Mix announced their hiatus in December 2021, Perrie has also been focused on her personal life and spending more time with her family.

Perrie and Alex got engaged in 2022. They welcomed their two-year-old son Axel in August 2021.
