Oscars 2022: Beyoncé wows with 'Be Alive' performance
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
"Beyoncé & Blue Ivy slayed The #Oscars with a phenomenal performance of 'Be Alive'!" - Social media users react to Beyoncé's Oscar performance.
It's been two years since Beyoncé performed on stage and her appearance at the 2022 Oscars was well worth the wait.
Queen B opened the 94th Academy Awards with a powerful rendition of 'Be Alive'. The song features in 'King Richard', a movie that tells the story of how Richard Williams helped shape the tennis careers of his daughters, Venus and Serena Williams.
'Be Alive' was nominated for 'Best Original Song' at this year's Oscars.
Beyoncé performed the song from the very same Compton tennis court where Venus and Serena trained as children.
The 40-year-old's daughter, Blue-Ivy Carter, also made an appearance during the performance.

The fact Beyoncé prerecorded an amazing performance and made everyone at the Dolby watch it on a big screen😂 The Oscar's probably don't even own that performance legally.

Billie Eilish went on to win the 'Best Original Song' award for her single, 'Not Time To Die', from the 'James Bond' movie of the same name.
The other nominees in the category were 'Dos Oruguitas' from 'Encanto', 'Down to Joy' from 'Belfast', and 'Somehow You Do' from 'Four Good Days'.
Despite missing out on 'Best Original Song', the 'King Richard' movie made history at the Oscars. Will Smith, who plays Richard, won his first-ever Oscar for "Actor in a Leading Role'.
His win was overshadowed by a shocking moment on stage. The actor slapped comedian Chris Rock after he made a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith's shaven head.
