Nicki Minaj's fans celebrate 'Pink Friday 2' release

Friday, December 8, is Nicki Minaj Day. The 41-year-old released her fifth studio album, 'Pink Friday 2', just in time for her birthday. 

The album is the sequel to Nicki's 2010 album, 'Pink'.  

'Pink Friday 2' was supposed to drop on November 17, but she decided to change the release date for a second time to coincide with her birthday. 

"This album is just beyond anything I could have imagined," Nicki tweeted ahead of its release date.

'Pink Friday 2' is finally here and the Barbs - as Nicki's fans are known - are so excited about the release that they made it a trending topic on X (Twitter). 

"Just finished #PinkFriday2 and it’s a masterpiece. 10/10. No skips, all hits and vibes.  My ears have been blessed," one fan wrote.

Another fan tweeted: "SHE'S BAAAAAACK!!!!! The queen of rap is back and it's no skips over here I'm afraid#PinkFriday2."

Nicki's new album features collaborations with several big names including, Lil Wayne, Future, Drake, and J. Cole. The 'Super Freaky Girl' hitmaker released the album's tracklist on Thursday.

Welcome to Gag City 

In celebration of the album, Nicki Minaj's fans have been using AI to create a fictional world known as Gag City. 

Nicki mentioned Gag City several times while promoting her album. "Gag City Airlines is ready to make its descent. Buckle up!" Nicki says in one promo shared on Instagram.

The promo shows a pink airplane flying through pink clouds. The Barbs' AI-generated Gag City world is inspired by the album's cover art. 

Nicki's fans have been inserting themselves and other celebrities into 'Gag City' in the most creative ways.

Even non-Barbs are joining in on the fun. "The Swifties have arrived in Gag City," one Taylor Swift fan wrote. 

An Ariana Grande fan commented: "The Arianators have arrived in gag city."
