Watch: Sam Smith releases beautiful 'One Last Song' video

Sam Smith has released the video for his emotional ballad, 'One Last Song'. 

"This track is my final love song directed to an old love of mine. I had so much fun making the video and, after a 25 hour shoot, I truly believe we created something beautiful," Sam wrote on Twitter.

The one-shot video starts with Sam performing in an empty theatre, before walking off stage. 

The Grammy Award-winning star sings about an ex he no longer communicates with directly.

The song is his way of sending his former lover a message. 

Maybe one day
I won’t sing about you
I’ll sing a song about someone new
But right here, right now
You are on my mind
And I think about you all the time
I’m sending a message to you
And I’m hoping that it will get through

He continues to sing his sad break-up song as he makes his way through the theatre.

'One Last Song' is the second single off his new album, 'The Thrill Of It All'.

The album's first single, 'Too Good at Goodbyes', is currently at number 15 on the Coca-Cola Top 40.
