Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
Kanye West performed on stage at the weekend for the first time in months.
Nearly one-year after an onstage meltdown, Kanye West returned to the stage for a surprise performance.
The rapper joined Kid Cudi at his show in Chicago on Saturday.
The pair performed 'Father Stretch My Hands, Pt 1.' for the excited audience.

Kanye's appearance at the show came as a big shock to his fans. The rapper has been MIA from the music scene since his show in Sacramento on November 19 last year.
The 'Gold Digger' hitmaker arrived 90-minutes late for his concert, and only performed for 15 minutes before going on a bizarre rant about Jay Z and Beyoncé.
"Beyoncé, I was hurt! ’Cause I heard that you said you wouldn’t perform unless you won Video of the Year over me, and over ‘Hotline Bling.’ In my opinion—now, don’t go tryin’ to diss Beyoncé, she is great. Taylor Swift is great. We are all great people, we are all equal. But sometimes, we be playin’ the politics too much and forgettin’ who we are—just to win," he said during his rant.

Kanye cancelled the rest of his 'Saint Pablo Tour' soon after, and was admitted to hospital for a "medical emergency".
The rapper appears to have recovered from the dramatic episode, and was all smiles during Kid Cudi's show.
