#SAMA22: full list of the winners

The South African music awards held in Durban tonight were a celebration of both the old and the new.

Newcomer Nathi bagged the most trophies on the night, taking home five awards including Best Male, whilst house veteran Black Coffee won four awards including Album of the year.

Emtee won the coveted prize of Record of the year making it the second time in a row that a hip-hop song has taken the prize after last year’s Cara Cara win by KO.

Emtee also won hip-hop album of the year beating out stiff competition from the likes of Da les and Zakwe.

Thando Thabethe and Somizi worked their magic on stage and proved that they were the presenting duo we had been waiting for and Nakhane Toure and Moneoa’s rendition of Lebo Mathosa’s I love music was the standout performance of the night.
