Rihanna's new album is filled
with EDM collaborations.
The Rihanna Navy will be pleased to know that Riri's new album will feature collaborations with several EDM heavyweights.
According to the Daily Star, the 30-year-old is working on a dance album that will feature the likes of Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Diplo, and Martin Garrix. This will be her ninth studio album, which her fans have dubbed 'R9'.
DJ Alesso, who is friendly with the aforementioned DJs, says he heard she wants to "take over the dance music charts".
"We have some mutual friends, so we’ll see what happens with that. She has the voice that fits on any record, she makes every record sound great. Whether dance, house, ballad, Rihanna can do it all. It will be great," he told the publication.

Alesso added that he hoped he would also get to work with the 'Love on the Brain' hitmaker but it's "too early" to talk about a feature.
"We’ll see, but I would just make the most of the studio session and never ever leave.I’d just record vocals. I don’t care if she mumbles I would take it! She has the crystal-clear voice where as soon as she speaks you know that is Rihanna!”
Despite her fans pushing for a release date, Rihanna is in no hurry to drop new music.
"I'm doing music. Simultaneously doing lingerie, makeup, film, amongst a couple other things that I enjoy. When the music is ready, you won't have to ask for it. But it's coming. Just not today sis. I’m hype too tho, it can't come soon enough for me. #Navy4Life," she told a fan on Instagram last month.
If Rihanna is going the dance music route, it would be a wise move.
Her 2016 collaboration with Calvin, 'This Is What You Came For', was a worldwide hit. The track's official video has over two-billion views on YouTube.
Calvin and David Guetta both have two songs on the Coca-Cola Top 40, and will no doubt create chart toppers with Riri.
