For many Aaliyah fans around the world, 25 August 2001 was a day that they will never forget. We look back at some of her most memorable songs of all time.
Many fans around the world are mourning the loss of Aaliyah. The Princess of R&B would have turned 40 on 16 January 2019.
Aaliyah tragically lost her life at the age of just 22 on 25 August 2001 when her plane crashed as it was leaving the Bahamas just after she recorded the music video for 'Rock The Boat'.
Even eighteen-years following her death, her legacy still lives on with her fans, which can be seen by the scores of wishes to her on Twitter.
To commemorate the legend that she was, we have decided to look back at three of her biggest hits over the years, in no particular order.
'Try Again'
The song was released in the year 2000 and it was the lead single to the popular movie, Romeo Must Die.
'Rock The Boat'
This soulful tune was taken off her self titled album and the music video was nominated for 'Video of the Year' at the 2002 BET Awards.
'More Than A Woman'
'More Than A Woman' was written by Timberland in 2002, and it was her last performance before her tragic death. It is reported that the song was "was nominated for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance in the 45th Annual Grammy Awards."
