Outlawz, founded by Tupac Shakur comes to South Africa
Outlawz was a group started by hip-hop legend himself, Tupac Shakur in 1995 when he was released from prison, and before his tragic death in September 1996.
Outlawz is better known by the more mature hip-hop crowd because of this and have had numerous accolades behind their name.
Some of the members of Outlawz has passed, some converted to Islam, and some has just fallen along the wayside regrettably. The two members that are still the most active are Malcolm Greenidge aka E.D.I. Mean (also known as E.D.I.Don), and Rufus Cooper III aka Young Noble who was the last member of the Crew added by Tupac Shakur himself.
In 2009, the Outlawz reunited with former member Hussein Fatal, who had left the group following the deaths of Tupac and Yaki Kadafi. Their sixth studio album, Perfect Timing was released on September 13, 2011. The album features guest appearances from many big name rappers including the likes of Bun B, Tech N9ne, Scarface, Krayzie Bone and Young Buck among others.
In 2011, some of the remaining members of The Outlawz made peace with longtime rival enemy Lil Cease of Junior Mafia. They recorded a track called "Bury the Hatchet", on a DJ Kay Slay album.
In 2014, Outlawz released a single named Karma featuring Snoop Dogg on June 5, 2014. In 2015, Hussein Fatal died in a car crash. In 2016, Moozaliny died at his home in California
Between 2016 and 2017, the group released their final albums, Living Legends and #LastOnezLeft.
And now The Outlawz will be making their way to SA for: Outlawz Live: South Africa Motherland Tour.
