Missy Elliott becomes first female rapper added to Songwriters Hall of Fame

Missy Elliott has received a prestigious title against her name, and fans around the world could not be happier with the news.
Get ready to 'Lose Control' because Missy Elliott is making headlines around the world - and history in the process.
The 47-year-old is well-known for big hits such as 'Work It', 'Get Your Freak On', and 'Pass That Dutch'.
Mixmag reports that the rapper was added to the Songwriters Hall Of Fame, and she was the first female hip hop artist to be added to the group with the likes of Jay-Z and Jermaine Dupri. It is also said that she has used her skills to write for the likes of Beyonce and even the late Aaliyah in the past.

Missy took to her Instagram to express how grateful she was after hearing the news.
"I want to CONGRATULATE all the AMAZING songwriters who have been inducted into the 2019 “Song Writers Hall of Fame🙌🏾🙌🏾 also those who were nominated because their body of work is AMAZING🙌🏾 I AM SO HUMBLY GRATEFUL & crying tears of Joy to now be inducted also thank you God🙏🏾 and I love all of you so much! I will forever be HUMBLED & GRATEFUL #SHOF2019 ✍🏾#VA"

Channel24 reports that an induction ceremony will be held in New York on the 13th of June.
One of Missy Elliott's famous songs is 'Work It' from her Under Construction album back in 2002. The video for the song received over 24-million views and remains popular to this day.
