Lil Wayne to release long-awaited ‘Tha Carter V’ album
Updated | By Music Reporter
After almost three years of waiting, Lil Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter V’ album is set to be released.
The news comes after Lil Wayne reportedly emerged victorious in his legal battle with Birdman, Cash Money Records, and Universal Music Group.
The singer has been engaged in a legal battle since 2015. He accused the label of not paying him an $8-million (roughly R100-million) advance or a $2-million (R25-million) completion fee. According to The Blast website, the matter has now been resolved and Wayne received an eight-figure settlement from Universal.
Vulture.com reports that Lil Wayne will no longer be under Cash Money and all his future releases will reportedly be handled solely by Universal.
We sure can’t wait to get our hands on ‘Tha Carter V’.
