Katy Perry's 'Witness' album heading for number one
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
Katy Perry's new album 'Witness' is on course for a number one debut in America.
Katy Perry released her new album 'Witness' on Friday, and the offering is on track to hit number one in America.
Despite fears that her nemesis Taylor Swift could steal her album's shine, Katy has proved her haters wrong.
Taylor announced last week that her entire music catalog would be made available on all streaming services for the first time in years.
The move came just hours before Katy's album was scheduled to drop.
Twitter users accused Taylor of being "petty" and trying to humiliate Katy.
But it looks like Katy just might have the last laugh.
'Witness' is on track to sell between 200,000 and 225,000 units in its first week of sales, which would take it straight to number one.
The album's lead single, 'Chained to the Rhythm', is still doing well on the Coca-Cola Top 40.
