Indie pop band December Streets drop new single 'Haters'
Updated | By Music Reporter
Haters are gonna hate but December Streets' new anti-hate anthem is all you need to get you through the weekend.
December Streets is giving their haters the ultimate middle finger.
The local Indie-pop band just dropped their new single, 'Haters', and the song is an important PSA for anyone spreading negativity in the world.
The band knows all too well what it is like dealing with hate. They got a lot of flak growing up from people who tried to cast doubt on their dreams of becoming a successful band.
Not only did December Streets prove their haters wrong, but they also came out victorious in a tough music landscape that often requires new artists to change who they are to conform to mainstream ideas.

Frontman Tristan Coetzee says their new song explores the theme of being content and proud of who you are regardless of what the haters say.
"This is one of my favourite tracks we’ve written. 'Haters' combines all the groovy rhythms with a powerful message of solidarity between outliers, sandwiched in a confident, care-free vibe. My hope for this song is that anyone who has their unique flair suppressed (for whatever reason), uses this song and message as a shield to negativity.
"If just one person comes to the realisation that their unique identity and personality is EXACTLY what makes them golden, and silences their haters to their core, then we’ve succeeded," he said ahead of the song's release.

Vocalist Dane Steinhobel agrees.
"This is a track that challenges the status quo of what is required to be considered popular and perhaps even questions the desire to want to be popular in and of itself.... At the very least I hope that when people listen to the track haters that it will inspire them to take life and be a part of the in-crowd with a pinch of salt."
Matthew Tager described 'Haters' as song that is "conducive to collective energy, passion, belief and expression".
"Performing this song live allows us to share a space with fans that can relate to our message and in return, we end up being a stronger family than an individual battling the issues addressed in the song," he said.
‘Haters’ is available to download on major music platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, Tidal, and Google Play. Check it out here.
