Weekend one of the 2018 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival proved to be an overwhelming success.

The festival's biggest headlining act, Beyoncé, stole the show with a much-talked about set. The festival was nicknamed 'Beychella' ahead of her highly-anticipated show, and she did not disappoint.

Queen Bey is the first black female musician to headline the popular event, which is held annually in California.

Beyoncé broke the internet when she took to the stage on Saturday night, with more than 10 of the top 20 trending Twitter hashtags in America being linked to her performance.

She brought out her Destiny's Child group members, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, her husband Jay Z, and sister Solange during her set.

Cardi B also caused a stir during her performance on Sunday. The pregnant rapper showed off her twerking skills and made an impressive Coachella debut. Many hoped she would bring out Bruno Mars for a surprise performance of their smash hit, 'Finesse' - which is currently at number 23 on the Coca-Cola Top 40, but he was nowhere to be seen.

Rapper Kendrick Lamar made a cameo during SZA's slot. They sang their hit single, 'All the Stars', from the movie 'Black Panther'. The song is currently at number nine on the Coca-Cola Top 40. Kendrick also made an appearance during Vince Staples' set.

The Weeknd also got people talking with his headlining act on the Friday night. Social media users watching the show on Coachella's official YouTube live stream noticed The Weeknd crying while singing 'Call Out My Name' - which is at number 37 on the Coca-Cola Top 40 - and 'Privilege'.

Some are adamant he was crying over his ex Selena Gomez, but he was reportedly spotted kissing his ex-girlfriend Bella Hadid at the festival.
