Michael Jackson's nephew wows in set pics for 'Michael' biopic

Michale Jackson's nephew, Jaafar Jackson, is preparing for the biggest role of his life - playing the 'King of Pop'.

Jaafar will play his uncle in a new biopic. 'Michael', which is already in production, is due for release in April 2025. 

Over the past week, pictures from the set have been shared online. Social media users are shocked by Jaafar's transformation, saying he looks just like the music icon. 

"I’ve been staring at this pic for a good 2-3min, so you telling me this ain’t Michael Jackson in this pic, it’s the nephew?" one X (Twitter) user wrote.

Prince Jackson, MJ's oldest son, was one of the first people to share a first look at Jaafar as Michael. 

"This project has had so many special moments for me and everyone involved. This photo was taken by my dad’s concert photographer @kevinmazur who was there for my dad’s last rehearsal and Jaafar’s first performance!" he wrote on Instagram. 

Prince added that he is proud of his cousin's portrayal. 

"Watching you perform and work your butt off is the closest I’ll ever come to watching my dad in concert and it’s been a dream come true!"

An audio clip has also gone viral of Jaafar allegedly singing a song called, 'Rebirth of Michael'. Social media users are amazed by how much he sounds like the 'Smooth Criminal' hitmaker. 

However, while Jaafar is a singer, the song in question appears to be the work of AI. Jaafar has not promoted the track, and it currently does not feature on any music platforms. 

The cover of the alleged single's art has also come under scrutiny.

Neither Jaafar nor Lionsgate, which is distributing the film, have commented on the alleged leak or validity of the song.

Surprisingly, he does sound a lot like his famous uncle. 

Several pictures from the 'Michael' biopic set have also leaked online.   

The film, which is directed by Antoine Fuqua, stars Nia Long as Michael's mother, Katherine Jackson. Colman Domingo plays his father Joe Jackson.

Jaafar has pretty big shoes to fill, but he is excited to be the one telling his uncle's story. 

"I’m humbled and honored to bring my Uncle Michael’s story to life. To all the fans all over the world, I’ll see you soon," he wrote on Instagram in January.
