'This Is Me... Now': Jennifer Lopez to release follow-up album 20 years later

Jennifer Lopez has announced her first new album in eight years. 'This Is Me... Now' is a follow-up to the album she released 20 years ago. 

The 'Marry Me' hitmaker released 'This Is Me... Then' in November 2002 shortly after her first engagement to Ben Affleck. 

The album, which featured songs such as 'I'm Glad', 'Still', 'Baby I Love U!' and 'Jenny From The Block', was  inspired by their romance. Jennifer also included a song on the offering dedicated to her fiancé called, 'Dear Ben'.  

The couple called off their engagement in 2004 but rekindled their romance in 2021. They tied the knot in Las Vegas in July 2022 before hosting an intimate wedding for close family and friends. 

Jennifer's new album includes 'Dear Ben pt. II'.  The 53-year-old revealed the project's full tracklist on Instagram on the 20th anniversary of 'This Is me... Then':

Jennifer is already hard at work promoting her new album. She sat down for an interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe to discuss the offering.

"Twenty years ago I fell in love with the love of my life and I was working on an album called 'This Is Me... Then' and it was all about capturing that moment in time... When I am in love is when I'm inspired and I was the most inspired then and I have not made another record like that since then," she told Zane. 

Jennifer's team has described her new album as "an emotionally raw and honest project". 

"... she writes and sings about her life and experiences that will resonate with us all. In addition, these autobiographical stories informed by the album will result in other very personal projects that will be released next year…more to come on that." 

Jennifer seems happier than she's ever been. She is a stepmother to Ben's three children with ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. She also has twins with singer Marc Anthony. 

"What I hope to cultivate with our family is that his kids have a new ally in me and my kids have a new ally in him, someone who really loves and cares about them but can have a different perspective and help me see things that I can’t see with my kids because I’m so emotionally tied up," the 'Let's Get Loud' singer told Vogue earlier this month.

'This Is Me... Now' - JLO's first full-length studio album in eight years - is due for release in 2023.
