Foes to friends! Madonna and Elton John end years-long beef
Updated | By Music Reporter
"Forgiveness is a powerful tool." Two of music's biggest stars are putting their long-running feud behind them.

Madonna and Elton John are hugging it out after putting their differences behind them in the sweetest way.
The 'Like a Virgin' hitmaker surprised her fans on Monday by sharing a picture of her former nemesis on Instagram.
"We Finally Buried the Hatchet! I went to see @eltonjohn perform on SNL this weekend!! WOW," she wrote.
The image showed the pair with their arms wrapped around each other.
Madonna reflected on the full circle moment by sharing how the 'Candle in the Wind' singer helped shape her music career.
"I remembered when I was in high school, I snuck out of the house one night to see Elton perform live in Detroit! It was an unforgettable performance that helped me understand the transformative power of music. Seeing him perform when I was in high school changed the course of my life," the 66-year-old said.

Madonna added that watching John helped her be more comfortable about being herself in the industry.
"I had always felt like an outsider growing up, and watching him on stage helped me to understand that it was OK to be different, to stand out, to take the road less travelled. In fact, it was essential."
The pair famously fell out after John made some harsh comments about her. He described Madonna's 2002 hit single, 'Die Another Day', as the worst James Bond theme song ever.
The 78-year-old also slammed her controversial 2003 MTV Video Music Awards with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. The trio famously kissed onstage.

He also called the 'Queen of Pop' a "f***ing fairground stripper".
Their feud reached new levels in 2012 when Madonna's 'Masterpiece' beat John's 'Hello, Hello' in the 'Best Original Song' category at the Golden Globes.
John's husband, David Furnish, labelled the win a big joke.
"Madonna. Best song???? F*** off!!! Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism," he said, per TMZ.
That is now all water under the bridge.
Madonna opened up about how she felt about John's comments in her latest post.
"Over the decades it hurt me to know that someone I admired so much shared his dislike of me publicly as an artist. I didn’t understand it," she said.
Despite his criticism, when Madonna heard that John would be the musical guest on 'Saturday Night Live' she decided to go see him.
"I needed to go backstage and confront him. When I met him, the first thing out of his mouth was, 'Forgive Me' and the wall between us fell down," she said.
"Forgiveness is a powerful tool. Within minutes. We were hugging."
We are glad these two are letting bygones be bygones, which means the pair can finally make music together.
"He told me [he] had written a song for me and he wanted to collaborate. It was like everything came full circle!"
