Kendrick Lamar and SZA debut new 'Luther' music video

"This video did a great job of showing that feeling of when you’re so deep in love with someone. It really just feels like nobody else is in the world just you two."

Kendrick Lamar has released the music video for his smash hit 'Luther' featuring SZA.

Lamar surprised his fans by dropping the track's visuals on YouTube without any prior teasers or announcements.

The music video, directed by Karena Evans, was released in April and has already racked up over 10 million views.

'Luther', which was released in November 2014, just spent its eighth week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, fending off stiff competition from his arch nemesis Drake.

Drake's latest hit, 'Nokia', is currently in the number two spot.

The track is named after music icon Luther Vandross. It samples the late singer's 1982 classic with Cheryl Lynn, 'If This World Were Mine'.

The duet was originally recorded by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell in 1967.

Lamar's fans heaped praise on his music video.

"No naked people, swearing, violence, just pure talent and showing how love can be simple with, of course, Luther Vandross," one commented.

Another fan added: "This video did a great job of showing that feeling of when you’re so deep in love with someone. It really just feels like nobody else is in the world just you two."

'Luther' features on Lamar's sixth studio album, 'GNX'.

It is the third single released from the album, which was released in November.

'Squabble Up', one of Barack Obama's favourite songs of 2024, and 'TV Off' peaked at #1 and #2 on the Hot 100 chart, respectively.

'Luther' is currently at #4 on the ECR Top 40 with Styles (Brought to you by CTM). 'TV Off' is #35 while Lamar's Drake diss track, 'Not Like Us' sits at #15.

The rapper's 2017 collaboration with SZA, 'All the Stars', is #26.

The track returned to the charts following Lamar's record-breaking Super Bowl halftime show in February.

Lamar and SZA are gearing up for the start of their 'Grand National Tour,' which begins in April.
