Joe Jonas debuts emotional new song 'Heart by Heart'

Joe Jonas has debuted a new single, 'Heart by Heart', before his upcoming album release.

The song is the third single from his 'Music For People Who Believe In Love' album, which will be released on May 23.

It follows 'Work it Out', which was released in July last year, and 'What This Could Be', which dropped in October.

The singer's fans have described his single as the "most beautiful and heartbreaking song".

"It's filled with so many emotions to which I personally relate so much. Thank you for being so vulnerable with us, you have a heart of gold," one wrote on Instagram.

Many also believe the track, which Jonas co-wrote with Lewis Capaldi, Savan Kotecha, Oscar Holter, and Max Gsus, is about his ex-wife, British actress Sophie Turner.

The former couple, who share two children, announced their divorce in September 2023.

"Holdin’ you tight in the back of your car / Know that we tried but we didn't get far / I’m sorry, so sorry / Well you gotta leave town / And you gotta live your life / Baby don't forget you can call me any time / You're lonely, so lonely," he sings.

Speaking to Billboard, Jonas says Kotecha pitched the song to him, and he loved the message behind it.

"I really felt connected to it, so we did some tweaks, and I recorded it last year around the summer or fall. We held onto the song for a while. It felt like the song I really wanted to be the next single of my album, so I’m positioning it in a way where it speaks to where I’m at in my life and the emotional side of where I’m at," he said.
