Rap icon Eminem has the music industry talking following the release of his 12th studio album, 'The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)'.

The album, produced by friend and longtime collaborator Dr Dre, was released on Friday, July 12. It is already breaking records.

The album is Spotify's biggest rap debut of 2024, with more than 85-million streams in just one day. It's also a career-best for Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers.

The 51-year-old also achieved a career first on Spotify's global artist chart.

"@Eminem hits #1 on the Spotify global artist chart for the first time in his career," Spotify Chart Data shared on X. Eminem temporarily kicked Taylor Swift off the top spot.

Kanye West and Beyonce are the only other two artists to hold down the #1 spot on the chart in 2024.

The Death of Slim Shady Tracklist

Eminem has already released two songs from 'The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)'. 'Houdini', the album's lead single, dropped in May. It was followed by 'Tobey' featuring BabyTron and Big Sean.

The 19-track album features guest appearances from Jelly Roll, 2 Chainz, Skylar Grey, and Sly Pyper.

Eminem shared a PSA on his Instagram page about how fans should listen to the album.

"The Death of Slim Shady is a conceptual album, therefore, if you listen to songs out of order, they might not make sense," he wrote.

In the first two days of release, eighteen songs from the album made it onto Spotify's US streaming chart. Music critics have rated 'Somebody Save Me' as one of the best songs on the album.

The official music video for 'Tobey', released last week, has already received more than 10-million views on YouTube.
