Celine Dion's sister shares devastating health update

It will be a while longer before Celine Dion's fans see her on stage again.
Celine Dion's sister has shared a devastating update on her health condition.
Claudette Dion has revealed that the 'I'm Alive' singer has “lost control of her muscles".
Celine was diagnosed with Stiff-Person Syndrome in 2022. She cancelled her entire 'Courage World Tour' as she could no longer perform live.
Stiff-Person Syndrome is a condition that causes muscle spasms, which can occur randomly. Celine's vocal cords have also been affected.
According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, "Stiff person syndrome is a rare autoimmune neurological disorder that most commonly causes muscle stiffness and painful spasms that come and go and can worsen over time. However, some people experience other symptoms such as an unsteady gait, double vision or slurred speech."
Celine's latest update means things are getting worse for the star.
According to the Daily Mail, Claudette told Canada’s 7 Jours publication that her famous sister still hopes to return to the stage.
"What breaks my heart is that she’s always been disciplined. She’s always worked hard. Our mother always told her, ‘You’re going to do it well. You’re going to do it properly.’ It’s true that in both our dreams and hers, the goal is to return to the stage. In what capacity? I don’t know," she was quoted as saying.
Despite the condition preventing her from performing, Celine is still able to get around and spend time with her children.
She was spotted at a hockey game in November with her sons René-Charles, Eddy and Nelson - who is named after South African struggle hero Nelson Mandela.
"My boys and I had such a fun time visiting with the Montreal Canadiens after their hockey game with Vegas Golden Knights in Las Vegas Monday night. They played so well, what a game!! Thank you for meeting us after the game, guys! That was memorable for all of us," the 55-year-old wrote on Instagram.

Celine was spotted at the final show of Katy Perry's 'Play' residency in Las Vegas last month.
The 'My Heart Will Go On' singer was seen smiling and chatting to guests at the show.
Fans are still hopeful that Celine will make a triumphant return to the stage one day.
"I have a great team of doctors working alongside me to help me get better and my precious children who are supporting me and giving me hope. I’m working hard with my support medicine therapist every day to build back my strength and my ability to perform again, but I have to admit it’s been a struggle," she said in December last year.
