"When I was young, I also had a lot of anger and rage."
BTS member Suga has opened up about a very sad period in his life.
The singer was speaking on Tuesday's episode (October 17) of his 'Suchwita' show where he had Kim Jong-wan, the singer of Korean rock band NELL.
He said NELL’s music is full of sadness and depravity, which he could relate to.
“Whenever I listen to NELL’s music, there’s always a sense of sadness and depravity. All that is captured in the music. Of course, when I was young, I also had a lot of anger and rage — anger against the world and against the system," he said.
The musician says making mixtapes served as therapy to him.
"As I made my mixtapes, a lot of those negative emotions got reduced,” the singer said.
Suga, whose real name is Min Yoongi, released his first mixtape, 'Agust D', in 2016. He released another one in 2020.

“During D-DAY, compared to D-2, people said a lot of that rage was gone, but I don’t think that can be helped," he said.
The Korean singer also opened up about a time he contemplated quitting music.
"I don’t think I need to bring back the emotions I’ve already dealt with. Back then, I was distressed and wanted to quit," he revealed.
He added that it was the same music that he wanted to quit that saved him.
"But those thoughts went away through music, so now I’m thankful for those times. It was thanks to those moments that I can do all this now,” he said.
