Britney Spears accuses her mother of setting her up

Britney Spears has slammed her mother after news outlets reported that an ambulance was called to a hotel in Los Angeles.

According to several reports, the singer was involved in an alleged altercation with her rumoured boyfriend, former housekeeper Paul Richard Soliz.

Britney has called the reports about a fight "fake news", and she blames her mother, Lynne Spears, for spreading it.

"I know my mom was involved !!! I haven’t talked to her in 6 months and she called right after it happened before the news being out !!! I was set up just like she did way back when !!! I wish I had grandparents !!! I can’t stand her !!! I honestly don’t care I will say it," she wrote on Instagram.

The 42-year-old shared a video of her swollen foot, revealing why an ambulance was called. She twisted her ankle while trying to do a leap in the living room.

"I fell, [and] embarrassed myself. That's it. Paramedics came to my door illegally, of course caused this huge scene, which was so unnecessary, and all I needed was ice. But yeah, it is actually pretty bad, but s*** happens," she said.

Britney also thanked Mathew Rosengart for helping her get through the ordeal.

Reports claimed that people at the hotel feared Britney's injury was the result of an altercation, while others thought she was having a "mental breakdown".

Paparazzi captured pictures of Britney leaving the hotel while carrying a pillow and dressed in shorts. She used a blanket to cover herself.

Jacob Diamond, who is currently involved in a legal dispute with Britney's mother, shared the images on his Instagram page.

Britney and her mother have had a rocky relationship over the years. The pair became estranged during her 13-year-long conservatorship, which was headed by her father, Jamie Spears.

The 'Toxic' singer felt betrayed by her family, including Lynne and her younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears.

It seems like a reconciliation was on the cards for the mother-daughter duo when Britney invited her estranged mother to coffee.

They reconnected in May 2023, but it looks like their reunion was short-lived.
