Brandy and Monica make cameos in Ariana Grande music video

Ariana Grande is still convinced she is dreaming after Brandy and Monica made surprise guest appearances in her new music video. 

The 30-year-old released the music video for her song, 'The Boy is Mine', on Friday. The song is a reimagined version of Brandy and Monica's iconic track of the same name.

"Such a pleasure 🖤 Love to you ALWAYS @arianagrande," Monica wrote on Instagram.

Brandy and Monica released their version of 'The Boy Is Mine' in 1998. The two songs sound nothing alike, but Ariana is a big fan of the original and decided to create her own bad-girl anthem. 

"You have no idea what this means ... [to] me. I am still convinced that I am dreaming it all," she wrote about the singers' cameos.

'You' actor Penn Badgley also makes an appearance. 

"The boy may be yours but the pleasure was all mine @arianagrande thank you for inviting me into your orbit for a moment & @christhedirector for building a little world to play in for a day. Hey ma I’m in a music video! And in the presence of @brandy and @monicadenise ?? Honored to be alongside these icons," he wrote on Instagram.

'The Boy is Mine' features on Ariana's new album, 'Eternal Sunshine'.

The album's lead single, 'Yes, and?', reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in America and was certified RIAA platinum on June 7. 

'We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)', the album's second single, also achieved platinum status.
