Ariana Grande reimagines Monica and Brandy's 'The Boy Is Mine'

Ariana says she has always been a fan of Brandy and Monica's 1998 classic...
One of the songs on Ariana Grande's new album, 'Eternal Sunshine', is inspired by a famous song from the 90s.
The 13-track album, released on March 8, features a song called, 'The Boy Is Mine'. That title is probably very familiar to fans of 90s R&B.
Singers Brandy and Monica released a song of the same name in 1998. It quickly became one of the year's biggest songs and won a Grammy for 'Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group'.

Speaking to Apple Music's Zane Lowe, Ariana says she has always wanted to reimagine the track in "some kind of way".
"I love that song... In a way, I was kind of like, ‘This is a very bad idea.’ But there is a large group of my fans that really do love a bad girl anthem, and this is an elevated version of that,” she said.
While Brandy and Monica's version is about fighting over a cheating boyfriend - whom they both later dump, Ariana embraces her inner bad girl.
The 30-year-old's 'The Boy Is Mine' lyrics read:
The boy is mine
I can't wait to try him
Le-let's get intertwined
The stars, they aligned
The boy is mine
Watch me take my time
I can't believe my mind
The boy is divine
