Ariana Grande recently took over Apple Music's ‘Who Runs The World’ playlist.
She spoke about women empowerment in the music industry.
“There are so many lenses through which we can explore female empowerment in music. Confidence, celebration of self, flexing the way men do, sexual liberation, healing from heartbreak, uplifting one another, and just all around challenging the definition of what women and girls ‘should’ be,” she told Apple Music.

She then shared a list of 16 songs that she loves to listen to, which features the likes of Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin.
The list also included several prominent South African female artists who are taking the world by storm. These include Sho Madjozi, Boity, and Busiswa.
“The women in this playlist—and sooooo many countless others...might need to make a second playlist tbh—have empowered millions of listeners worldwide. I couldn't be more excited to share my playlist with you all,” she told Apple Music.
