Ariana took a break from music to focus on the film 'Wicked', but she is back and bigger than ever...
Ariana Grande is feeling "emotional" after her new song, 'Yes, And?', debuted at number one in America.
The track knocked Jack Harlow's 'Lovin On Me' off the top spot on the latest Billboard Hot 100 chart.
According to Billboard, 'Yes, And?' is the 30-year-old's eighth #1 song on the chart. She now has the same number of songs on the Hot 100 as Beyoncé. Mariah Carey remains the solo female artist with the most No.1s. She currently has 19.
"I am so so so……. so emotional. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to my fans, the most incredible angels in the world, for the love you have shown this song and me," Ariana wrote on Instagram.
'Yes, And?' was released on January 12 as the lead single from Ariana's upcoming album, 'Eternal Sunshine'.
The song has been streamed more than 27-million times since its release.
"It is overwhelming and so sincerely moving to see how many of you this song has resonated with and it is such a gift to feel so seen and held by you! Thank you for your positivity, for your support and for everything. You have no idea how much you mean to me!" said Ariana.
MORE FROM EAST COAST RADIO:
Ariana Grande took a break from music and temporarily moved to London to work on her upcoming musical fantasy film, 'Wicked'.
She plays the role of Glinda in the movie, which also stars her rumoured new beau, Ethan Slater.
Ariana announced in July last year that she was separating from her husband of two years, Dalton Gomez. She officially filed for divorce in September.
Social media users have speculated that her new song is about the backlash she received over her relationship with Ethan. News of their alleged romance broke shortly after Ariana announced her separation.
Ethan's estranged wife, Lilly Jay, slammed Ariana in an interview with Page Six.
"[Ariana’s] the story, really. Not a girl’s girl. My family is just collateral damage," she said.
Ariana sings on 'Yes, And?': "Your business is yours and mine is mine/ Why do you care so much whose d*** I ride?"
The song's lyrics also include:
Now, I'm so done with caring
What you think, no, I won't hide
Underneath your own projections
Or change my most authentic life
