Another one, thank you! Tyla bags major music award
Updated | By Music Reporter
Tyla's win at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards this week has put her in the history books.

South African singer Tyla is dusting her awards cabinet to make way for another major trophy.
The 23-year-old won 'Best World Music Artist' at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, beating Burna Boy, Central Cee, YG Marley, and Tems.
The 'Push 2 Start' star is the first artist to win in the category, which was added to the awards show for the first time in 2025.
She is also reportedly the first South African artist to win an iHeartRadio music award.
"Thank you, Tygers," the singer said after her big win.
Tyla's breakthrough song, 'Water', was nominated for 'R&B Song of the Year' and 'Dance Song of the Year'.
Other big winners on the night include Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Benson Boone, Sabrina Carpenter, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, SZA, Glorilla, Teddy Swims, Jelly Roll and Morgan Wallen.
This is Tyla's second major award win of the year.
In February, it was announced that she would receive the 'Impact Award' at the Billboard Women in Music ceremony.
The ceremony will take place at the YouTube Theatre in Los Angeles on March 29.
"Each year Billboard’s Women in Music event recognises music’s rising artists, creators, producers and executives for their contributions to the industry and community," Billboard said.

Meanwhile, Tyla remains booked and busy in 2025. She recently performed at the Mercedes-Benz CLA World Premiere in Italy.
Her new campaign with clothing brand H&M, featuring her sister Sydney Seethal, will debut on March 20.
Tyla appears on a new song with Blackpink star Lisa, 'When I'm With You', which is featured on her debut studio album, 'Alter Ego'.
She's also listed as one of the track's co-writers.
Where to next for Tyla?
It seems the sky is not the limit for South Africa's golden girl.
