English singer Adele has stopped her concerts to yell at a homophobic fan, to say hello to the doctor who delivered her son, and even to deal with a pesky mosquito.

However, we were pretty surprised when the 'Hello' singer halted her show in Munich, Germany, to watch the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Adele, it seems, could not miss out on the 100-metre women's athletics final.

American Sha’Carri Richardson, who shocked the Jamaicans at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest last year, was vying for her first Olympic gold medal. British sprinter Daryll Neita was also in the race.

However, she faced stiff competition from Saint Lucia's Julien Alfred and fellow USA athlete Melisa Jefferson.

Concertgoers cheered on the women as they raced for the finish line. Ultimately, Julien came out victorious, winning her country's first-ever Olympic medal.

Adele congratulated Julien on her historic win and urged the audience to give her a round of applause.

Cool as a cucumber, she then resumed her show without missing a beat.

"Alright, let's get on with the show, Fantastic, Saint Lucia," she said.

Social media users applauded Adele for taking a few minutes out of her show to support other women.

"She’s a real one for this. We love women supporting women," one X user wrote.

Another user added: "Adele is a real gem. For me, when it comes to talent, character, and likability among female artists the list is short; Beyoncé, Adele, Lady Gaga [and] Victoria Monet. That’s all."

A third wrote: "There's someone who's obsessed with blocking women then there's Adele who paused her show just for women's Olympics."

Adele has also given Simone Biles a shout-out during one of her previous shows.

"While I was watching world-class athletics, I'll be like, 'Oh, that landing was a bit dodgy, wasn't it? Her legs weren't really straight' Meanwhile, if I tried anything that they do I would be dead. I would absolutely die if I tried to do any kind of move. I thought it was amazing and of course the legendary Simone Biles won gold," she said.

She also praised Simone for sharing her mental health challenges in her documentary, before mentioning that she couldn't wait to watch the 100m final.

"I am very excited about watching the 100-metre final tomorrow.  I want Sha'Carri Richarson to win, fingers crossed, but whoever wins that's amazing.
