eThekwini Municipality's Head of Parks and Recreation, Thembinkosi Ngcobo, says a massive clean-up operation is going well.
"Right now we are concentrating more on the underground infrastructure, which would include your electricity connections, water pumps. But from what I've seen, the damage has been quite extensive. And excluding restaurants - we are looking at anything between R5-million and R10-million," he said.

Ngcobo is also urging people to pay attention to notices and warnings in place - whilst clean-up operations and assessments are underway.
"Beaches are currently closed. The swelling is becoming less of a threat than what it was yesterday," he said.
