Here are 5 things you need to do as soon as you’re back in the office after the holidays to ensure that you keep your business moving.
1. Let your customers know you’re back.
Just as you would have sent holiday greetings to your clients to let them know your office would be closed for the festive season, you need to let them know that you’re back and ready to do business. A quick email message wishing them a happy new year and reminding them that you are once again available is helpful and a great way to get a conversation started. You can also use the opportunity to thank them for their support over the past year and welcome any feedback they might have.
2. Create a special deal
Why not consider creating a special deal for your customers to kick off the new year. Offering a discount or value purchase is a great way to get your customers to make contact to find out more or possibly even make a purchase. It’s a good idea to include a coupon or voucher with the message you send your customers letting them know that your business is open.
3. Kick off an online marketing campaign
The start of the year is the perfect time to start a new online marketing campaign. If you don’t have experience in this area, it’s strongly suggested you acquire the services of an individual or company that are experts. Determine your target audience and market your product or services to them. Ensure that you also purchase appropriate AdWords and sponsored social media posts. Adding a special deal to your marketing is also a great way to attract new customers you might not have been able to reach before.
4. Check on your staff
Talk to your staff and ensure that they’re all still happy with their positions and their job descriptions. The new year is usually a great time to connect with staff members who are usually more relaxed after a well-deserved break and are ready to start the new year on a positive note. Happy and satisfied staff equals a happy and satisfied customer. It might also be a good time to discuss skills development and training they might need.
5. Check processes
Now is a good time to check on your business processes. Make sure your systems are up to date, do maintenance wherever it is required and make sure your staff have the tools and structures in place to perform their duties optimally. Starting the year on a good, working note will be great for your business and will show your staff that you’re committed to a successful year.
