What better way to have fun than in the kitchen?
With the cold weather outside, cooking is a great way to keep them warm and entertained indoors.
Here are three great recipes from food bloggers that are quick and easy to make.
Three-minute fudge
Fudge is a delicious treat and is popular among kids.
Here is how to make a fudge that requires only three ingredients.
Ingredients
1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz or 396 g)
1/4 cup unsalted butter (56 to 60 g)
2 1/4 cups of chocolate (milk chocolate, dark, semi-sweet, or a combination of them all, about 400 g)
Optional ingredients: 1 tsp vanilla extract and 1/2 to 1 cup chopped walnuts
Method
Pour the sweet condensed milk into a large bowl that is suitable for a microwave.
Add the butter into the bowl.
Microwave for 2-3 minutes until the butter has melted.
Remove the container from the microwave and add the chocolate.
Stir the chocolate to the mixture.
Pour fudge into prepared pan and let it cool completely before cutting into 1 inch squares.
Three-ingredient mini muffins
Who doesn’t love muffins? This classic home-made muffin recipe will have your children licking their fingers.
Ingredients
1 Cup of self-raising flour
1/3 Cup of sugar
1 Cup of thickened cream
Method
Pour one cup of flour into a bowl.
Add sugar and mix.
Make a well in the middle and pour the thickened cream, mixing slowly.
Pour into cup and microwave for three minutes or bake for 10 minutes in an oven at 160 degrees.
Three-minute Microwave Chocolate Mug Cake
Chocolate cake is a favourite for most children.
Ingredients
4 tbsp. all-purpose flour
2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp, granulated sugar
Pinch of salt
5 tbsp. milk
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
Optional: chocolate chips, nutella, or peanut butter
Method
Mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, sugar, and salt together.
Add the milk and oil and mix well.
If desired, add chocolate chips.
Place batter into a mug and add nutella or peanut butter if you prefer.
Microwave for 60 seconds at 1200 watts, adjust time according to the power of your own microwave.
