Looking for a delicious ice-cream recipe? Celebrity chef Siba Mtongana has shared a yummy recipe with her followers.

Summer is here and nothing beats delicious ice-cream in this hot weather. 

Ice-cream is one of the best frozen desserts and is loved by both young and old. 

According to statistics, it is estimated that the world's annual consumption of ice-cream is around 15.4-billion litres.

Ice-cream is not only sweet, but it has a cooling effect. 

If you want to learn how to make your own, Siba Mtongana shared an easy five-minute recipe that will have you begging for more. 

Below is the cream cheese ice-cream recipe from the chef: 

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: none

Freezing time: 6 hours or overnight

Makes: 4-6 cones scooped

500 ml (2 cups) fresh cream

230 g Plain cream cheese, at room temperature

385g can condensed milk

20 ml vanilla extract or 1 vanilla pod, scrapped.

Method

1.Whisk the cream gently until soft peaks form and be careful not to over whisk). Remove and set aside.

2. In the same bowl that is rinsed and dried, whisk the cream cheese until smooth stopping in between to scrape down the sides.

3. Pour the condensed milk a little a lot a time and continue whisking until thoroughly mixed and smooth.

4. Add vanilla extract or vanilla pod and continue whisking until blended remembering to scraper down the sides.

5. Unsung a spatula, fold in the whipped cream until the cream cheese mixture is airy, lush and velvety.

6. Pour into the chilled baking loaf tin and freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight until set.

8. Remove from freezer and allow to sit for a few minutes until easy to scoop. Using an ice cream scoop dipped in hot water, scoop the once cream into sugar cone and serve immediately. Enjoy!

Siba’s Tip:

Here’s a Siba Genius Hack: Place the baking loaf tin in the freezer for an hour before you start making the recipe to help quicken the freezing process of the ice cream.

Serve in sugar cones or cones of your choice.
