Mother's Day cake recipe for beginners

Mother's Day is the perfect day to shower your mom with lots of love and pampering.
From the moment a woman realises that she is pregnant, the major focus turns to her child.
From feeding, clothing, and providing shelter and protection, mothers do the most for their children.
However, Mother's Day is the opportunity to return the favour and show your mother how much she means to you.
We have found the perfect cake recipe to ensure your mom feels the love.

Ingredients:
-350g butter
-350g caster sugar
-350g self raising flour
-7 eggs
-1 tsp vanilla extract
-Bake at 160degrees Celsius fan until it springs back when pressed.
For the buttercream frosting, the following recipe is from BBC Good Food:
- Beat 600g sifted icing sugar and 300g butter together with your chosen flavouring and colouring if using, add 2-3 tbsp of boiling water to loosen and beat until smooth.
- Smear the frosting on top of the cake and the sides.
- Decorate with edible flowers.
